A Beginners Class in Paper Piecing Supply List • The Stepping Stones Basic Pattern (A Judy Niemeyer/Quiltworx Design) is a $26.00 value, included in the class fee) Note: Basic Pattern contains paper templates to make 60” x 68” quilt top. Extra templates can be purchased online to increase the size of the quilt. Fabric Requirement: You get a 15% discount on fabrics when purchased at The Material Girl • Accent Fabrics: 3 packages Bali Pops (40 per pkg.) OR One-hundred (100) 2 ½ inch x 42 inch strips from a collection of medium and dark fabrics • Black Fabric: 1 ¾ yds. General Supply List • Iron • Ironing mat • Cutting Mat • Rotary cutter • 6”x24” ruler/cutting guide • Small scissor • Seam ripper • Sewing machine Paper Piecing Supply List • 12” or 18” ADD-A-QUARTER ruler/cutting guide (A ruler with a quarter inch lip on the bottom side used to trim the quarter inch seams for the foundation paper piecing. 18” is recommended for this pattern.) • Thin plastic folding template ( A piece approximately 18” x 3” is sufficient) • Scotch tape • Washout fabric glue pen • Pins • Size 70 sewing needle • High quality threads (Poor quality thread has a tendency to break when removing the paper) • Purple Thang ( A small plastic tool used like a stiletto that does not poke through the fabric. It is used to help feed the fabric through the presser foot when sewing over heavy seams.
